DICK'S Sporting Goods

I purchased a new iron head and shaft on eBay and needed it assembled. Had some Dicks gift cards so it was a no brainer to bring it to the pro shop at Brick since I had prior good experience there. When it was assembled they cut the shaft too short and had to put an extender on the end. Then the head became lose during a round and I found out that the shaft wasn’t properly installed all the way into the hozel. More extenders. They finally realized what they did and gave me a new shaft for my iron. When I got home I looked it over and the head was installed crooked on the shaft. The pro shop staff are great guys and go out of their way to help but for advanced stuff like I had done go somewhere else. Dicks should have a professional golf installer come and teach the staff how to assemble clubs.

I can only choose between 4 and 5 stars so I gave Dicks a 4, but honestly I'd give them at least a 4.5 if I could. They have tons of great stuff for just about any sport but the prices are'nt great. I'm not crazy about the layout of the store either and it's a pain to get out, honestly the way you leave makes no sense, you'll see what I mean when you stop by. Big gold section, lots of shoes, and a big fishing section. I'd recommend stopping by if you need sporting goods in Brick, and it's right next to two of my favorite places the Hobby Lobby and Costco.

Unfortunately the experience at this store - and particularly with employee Jennifer - was very different than any other Dicks store we have visited in the past. Not only was she unhelpful but she didn’t let an opportunity go by without making us feel totally unwanted in the store.

The store itself is a mess. It was even worse today when I went in to look at some golf clubs. The golf section was in total disarray. I was able to find a couple sets of irons I was interested in, but no sales help could be found. One gentleman dressed in Dicks apparel walked by and ignored me. I just thought he didn’t work in the golf section. I found a used Callaway driver, lefty! But no price tag. I walked around looking for help and found the gentleman who walked by me earlier was helping another customer by the club fitting desk. I waited patiently and finally was able to ask him what the price was. He took the club from me, started looking on his phone and in the system computer. No words exchanged. He finally prints off a price tag, sticks it to the club and says “take it up to the register they’ll ring it up.” Ok, but could I take a few swings with it before I buy it? “Only one or two.” As if I could make a decision on a club worth several hundred dollars with “one or two swings.” No thanks, I’ll put it back. Amazing. Stunned. I’ll never set foot in that store again. Well, not totally true. If I need to find a size for a golf shoe I’m interested in, I’ll try it on here. T

Good selections of whatever you need but too many brands never discount. Give us a break! I did place an order on line recently which was accepted then cancelled a few days later because they oversold I guess. Not a good on line practice. Convenient but pricey. Staff is friendly and knowledable.
